The Lounge

We took a brief hiatus for the month of March to recharge our batteries and plan some exciting new events! But now the team is ready to get back in action in April!

We’re very excited to enter April with three events on deck for you all. The first is First Thursdays, our monthly low pressure hang out, where we choose a bar/brewery, just show up as we are and socialize! This month we’ll be at Old Stove Ship Canal. Feel free to stop on by and meet other folks to make new friends, find new dates, or just hang out for the vibes.

In mid April, Pitch A Friend returns with 12 brave presenters who will pitch their single friend to the crowd. If anyone is interested, they can pass along a flirt card and see where the connection goes. It’s a great event to meet other singles, have fun with friends, and potentially meet your next partner. If nothing else, you’ll laugh your butt off listening to the presenters.

We’ll round out April with a new signature event: The Singles Cooking Class. This is something our team has been wanting to do for a long time and we’re excited to finally put it together. Join other singles as we explore the delicacies of Palestinian cooking at the Pantry. I’ve personally attended several Palestinian cooking classes with the Pantry and can say it’s always been a blast and the food is delicious. Nadia our instructor is also such a kind and talented individual. You won’t want to miss out on this one! Tickets go on sale April 1st at 9am, so don’t miss out.

We’re super excited for these events and can’t wait to see you all there! As always, if you have events you’d like to see us host, let us know!

Time for fun!

It’s no secret to those who know me that I’m a big fan of the Tarot. Not just for spiritual woo, woo reasons but more-so they provide a great framework for reflection and setting direction.

While thinking about this month’s newsletter, I decided to pull a card to see what April’s vibe is for our members. And what do you know it was the Four of Cups!

This card, in its upright position, may indicate missed opportunities or feeling bored with life or you may be feeling like the grass is greener on the other side. Sounds really dark and depressing right?

Well this is the perfect card for those of us emerging from the cold dark days of Winter into Spring! Spring is filled with opportunities to emerge from hibernation, get back into the real world, and have some fun! This card indicates that you shouldn’t discount opportunities in your social life that are coming your way. So the next time you see a fun event, jump on the chance to go. A friend invites you out and you don’t have the energy? Join them! You see someone across the room making eye contact and smiling? Go say hi! Don’t miss your opportunity! It’s a reminder that good things always come your way, but it’s up to you to hop on your surf board and ride the wave.

You may also be feeling like you’re longing to get into a relationship or that you’re missing out on certain things while you’re single! The four of cups can be a reminder that things aren’t always greener on the other side. Instead take stock of the things you enjoy about your current situation and lean into the what you can only do while single. Want to take a spontaneous trip for a week? Go do it. Enjoy your ability to do what you want when you want. Want to eat Pizza for the third day in a row? Do it. Enjoy where you’re at in life and then when the opportunity arises for change, don’t miss the opportunity!

My suggestion is, heed the advice of the Tarot and jump on your opportunities in the month of April. Put yourself out there and have fun! Spring is upon us, and the sun will soon be shining, so don’t waste it. Here’s to an amazing April!

Have a great week, See you soon!
